Domain Registration FAQ
QDE currently supports domain registration for .com, .net, and .org. We may add more extensions in the future.
The current price is €10.95 per year for .com, .net, and .org. The current renewal price is the same as the registration price. Prices may change in the future depending on registry costs, exchange rates, and market conditions.
Domains can be registered for up to 10 years. Renewals and transfers are also subject to the 10-year maximum term, so a domain can only be extended up to 10 years from the current date.
Yes. QDE includes DNS management at no extra cost, and you can edit your own DNS records from your account.
Yes. You can use QDE DNS, your own authoritative nameservers, a third-party DNS provider, or hosting outside QDE.
For supported domains, registrant personal data is redacted from public RDDS/RDAP output by default, so we do not publish your full contact details. You can choose to publish certain information where supported.
Yes. You can transfer eligible .com, .net, and .org domains into QDE. A successful domain transfer normally adds one year to the domain's expiration date, subject to the maximum registration term of 10 years. There is one important exception for recently expired domains. If your domain expired, was auto-renewed by the previous registrar, and is then transferred within the 45-day Auto-Renew Grace Period, the registry may cancel the auto-renewed year from the previous registrar. In that case, the transfer year replaces the auto-renewed year, so the final expiration date may not move forward by an additional year. For example, if your domain expired, was renewed at the previous registrar, and then transferred shortly after that renewal, you may not see another year added after the transfer. This does not mean the transfer failed. It means the previous auto-renewed year was removed and replaced by the transfer year. To avoid confusion, we recommend transferring your domain before it expires, or waiting until the previous renewal is fully settled outside the Auto-Renew Grace Period.
Yes. There is no lock-in, but domain transfers are subject to ICANN and registry rules. A domain normally cannot be transferred within 60 days of initial registration, within 60 days of a previous registrar transfer, or during a 60-day Change of Registrant lock where applicable. A successful transfer normally adds one year to the domain's expiration date, subject to the 10-year maximum term. If a domain expired, was auto-renewed by the previous registrar, and is then transferred within the 45-day Auto-Renew Grace Period, the auto-renewed year may be cancelled by the registry. In that case, the transfer may add only one year in total, not two.
Domains do not renew automatically unless automatic renewal is enabled for the domain. If it is not enabled, you need to renew the domain manually before it expires.
Domain registration is usually completed immediately. It may be delayed if the registration information provided is invalid, incomplete, or requires additional verification.
You can use the same payment methods available for other QDE services, such as PayPal, credit card, iDEAL, and cryptocurrency.
Yes. You can register a domain with QDE without purchasing hosting.
